According to Computer World Magazine "most of the new recruit in the company will be a computer science, electrical engineering or information system major. Furthermore, the company needs employees with well-rounded skills, including hands-on experience with several programming, languages such as Java and C+ +" (Dash, 2002). Managers need these skills because employers want managers who have experience in the software or technology to be used in the job, as well as a background in either consulting or business management (Occupational outlook handbook, 2002).
The suggested major to the Computer and information system is the Management information system (MIS). These two are related in most of the subjects except the (MIS) focuses in the Management more than the Computer and Information System and the (CIS) focuses more in the Computer. For my major I have to take the A.A. degree in this college so I can be transferred to a State University. The two subjects that are required in most of the Universities are English Composition one and Business Calculus. Without these two subjects you can't apply for a University, except if you finished the English program in the same University that you want to enroll in.
             .
Furthermore, I have to take three subjects in Communication, two subjects in Humanities, two subjects in Mathematics, three subjects in Natural Sciences, and two subjects in Social Science to complete the A.A. degree in this college. Each subjects worth three credits. The total for the whole credits is sixty credits, 24 credits in Electives and 36 credits in General Education. There are many Universities that have this major. And I will specify these to three Universities. One of these is University of Miami (UM). Another one is Florida Atlantic University (FAU). The third one is Florida International University (FIU). The first and the last one are in Miami that I prefer to study there and the second one is near where I"m living.
