court

This is a brief history on the events that led to my court appearance on November 24, 2003. It started at the end of the summer when my friends and I were driving to work in Idaho like we did every day. Everyone in the car was asleep except for me. It was about 5:30 in the morning when I pulled up to the stop sign that led me on to the highway. I took the left that I normally take, and got up to the highway speed of 55 mps. After about ten seconds I watched as this man down the road in a big truck proceeded to pull out of his driveway. I didn't think that he would keep backing out, but he did, and he smacked into me. Instantly the car was thrown to the other side of the highway, and all the windows in the car shattered. We then proceeded to hit a curb, then flipped around and hit another curb, then flipped around once again and hit a tree. When it was all over, we ended up about a block away from where the crashed actually happened. As we were all crawling out of the car, the man who had hit us was running over to us to see if we were all right. He then said on of the dumbest things I have ever heard. "Are you guys alright, you just hit me in my drive way." After he said this I looked over and saw his truck. He had hit us, and then pulled back into his driveway, to make it look like I had hit him there. Anyway the cops showed up and ended up giving him the ticket, because we had a witness showed just in time. Obviously the man appealed and that's how I ended up in court.
I showed up to the court house about twenty minutes early. I went to talk to the lady that was sitting at a desk to ask what exactly to do. She just told me that the judge was running behind and they would get to our case as soon as possible. I then went up the stairs where she told me to wait. Honestly I was a little nervous about the whole thing, I have never been to court before, so I didn't know what to expect.
