According to their beliefs, deciding on a person's death is not a sign of good will or forgiveness as it doesn't give the convict a chance of remorse for what he/she has done. People who stand against death penalty believe in the phrase: "Two wrongs don't make a right." And they seem to have a point as another cruel "murder", like this that occurs when someone is condemned to die, is not going to bring the victim's life back. Furthermore, the ways in which convicts die are believed to be extremely cruel, like the electric chair or the poison that trindles in them until they are dead. Capital punishment is totally against the beliefs of the most accepted religion, which is Christianism. People's demand to abolish death penalty is thought to be based on some pretty "strong" outlooks and beliefs.
On the other hand, a respectable number of people stand for capital punishment due to its ability to exemplify other criminals. These people think that convicts, who show no remorse for the crimes they have committed, have to be executed and this action will automatically cause other criminals" fear. The power of the fear of death is able to reduce the number of crimes as criminals are afraid of being caught and killed. As a result, countries can become more civil since there will be no fear, or at least less fear of being murdered or raped. It is believed that death penalty will create a "clear" society, free from criminals and future convicts. In addition to that, people who support the penalty of execution believe that the death of murderers or rapists will satisfy not only the simple citizens but also the police and most of all the victims" families. As criminals cause a lot of pain to the family and friends of the victims, death penalty will be a kind of revenge and relief at the same time knowing that this cruel person is condemned to death and is punished with the worst of the punishments.
