Euthanasia

Since people lead there whole lives in the manner that they want to therefore this individual choice should continue to the end of there lives. As Martin Luther King once said, "No one is truly free to live until one is free to die".
Pro-euthanasia campaigners also believe that most people who are in there old age nowadays become dependant on their families to provide food, shelter and medical care for them [Hentoff,Keyes. "Euthanasia and assisted suicide"(2 July 2001). http://www.euthanasia.com]. Thus these senior citizens realize that they are placing a tremendous financial and emotional pressure on the people caring for them. And so they feel that if this pressure is out of the way there families will be much better off. This is the situation where the person uses euthanasia to relief the pressure on others, not necessarily to put themselves out of their misery or pain.
             .
On the other hand there are many reasons which makes large number of people believe in the actual banning of euthanasia in all countries all over the world. As a start people opposing voluntary euthanasia disagree with the last reason (mentioned before). That is because of the fact that the death of a person affects the lives of many others often in ways and to an extent, which can not be foreseen. Which means that the issue of euthanasia is one in which the interest of the individual cannot be separated from the interests of society as a whole [Hentoff,Keyes. "Euthanasia and assisted suicide"(2 July 2001). http://www.euthanasia.com]. Which in turn leads to the belief that personal autonomous choices should not infringe upon others.
             .
Moreover people opposing euthanasia disagree with people claiming that if someone is in a great deal of pain and there is no hope of recovery then it would be inhuman to let them continue. This disagreement is due to the fact that research data shows that people who care full time for the dying rarely encounter a request to be killed and when they do it is almost always associated with depression or an intractable social problem.
