RE: Describe how corporate responsibility and ethics are addressed at your organization.
The company I currently work is USAA, which was established for and by military personnel. Corporate responsibility and ethics have become of great importance to the company I work for. The company expects so much from each employee. USAA has established a name for themselves and will not except anything less than 100% from its employees. The company does not tolerate any form of racism, sexism, or any other form of discrimination. Employees are sent to monthly seminars stressing these particular issues. To govern these topics, USAA has created an ethics department. This department handles all ethical situations, and any claim of unethical behavior. Information that is reported to this department is held confidential. .
The procedures that govern the company are followed by the book. The company is very self conscious, and wants the general public to view them as a moral abiding organization. For example , the procedures of the human resource department are followed exactly as the policies written. Each applicants will go through the same extensive background check and drug check procedures. No matter what the position one is trying to acquire, everyone goes through the same hiring process. Though the company may seam strict, USAA does put a lot of trust in its employees. We have several company stores in which you are allowed to check out your own purchases. You become your own cashier. The company believes that the employees they hire are the most ethical and trustworthy of any employees. Due to policies like this, employees have become a part of the ethical standard that the company is trying to establish. The company also offers extensive bonuses and compensation yearly for all!.
their employees. The organization feels they have an ethical obligation to reward their workers for jobs well done.
