Making Our Homeland Safer

I believe guns should be banned from the United States. In many cases, guns are not used to protection, but they for revenge and may take the lives of an innocent human beings. Many accidents leading to death involve guns. In order to avoid incidents of shooting in schools, we all need to take action. For example, the Columbine High School tragedy, two students were using a gun to kill their twelve classmates. Civilians abuse the weapon, they are using it to commit crimes "I think we are prepared to get rid of the dammed things entirely the handguns, the semis and the automatics"(Roger 245). Gun should be banned once and for all.
Our nation loses far too many lives to senseless violence. Nearly 30,000 Americans are killed each year by guns (Silver). We must work together to prevent future deaths and help create a safer, more secure America. In the Columbine High School tragedy in Colorado, where two students shot and killed twelve student and a teacher and wounded twenty three other people before killing themselves (hand gun control), guns were too easily to accessible to the youths. It demonstrates how easy it is for anyone to get access to a gun at any time. If guns were banned, such incidents could be prevented.
Law enforces and national security needs to make stronger laws against guns. The government should get rid of all used guns, preventing those guns from getting back into criminals hands again (Henry). I think when a person has a gun they think they have more power, leading them to make wrong decisions. This is especially the case when minors, drugs addicts, and people with mental deficiencies get hold of a gun. Most people in America believe that gun purchases should be checked carefully and these buyers must require stronger identity checks of potential gun buyers, such as having two forms of identification, including one proving his or her residency. But what if a gun is stolen and used to kill innocent people? Even if the killer I punished, but then too late for the victims whose lives have already been taken.
