Ransom

Setting: High in the mountains, in an old cabin.
Main Characters: Bruce, Dexter, Glenn, Jesse, and Marianne which were all kids that got kidnapped. .
Point of View: The point of view was a little different in this book than in others that I have read. The point of view is first person, but it switches between Jesse and Marianne throughout the book. .
Theme: I think that the author is trying to tell us that if you stick together things will turn out fine. .
Plot: Five students are kidnapped and held for ransom in an old cabin in the mountains by a guy who acted to be their substitute bus driver. Glenn and Bruce are brothers, Dexter is a kid who lives with his uncle who is on a business trip and doesn't even know he's gone. Jesse is the daughter of a colonel and Marianne is a cheerleader that doesn't think that her stepfather will pay the ransom money. The kids finally get the best of the bad guy, "Juan." Bruce gets Juan's gun from him, they tie him up in the cabin and go down the mountain to a phone booth to call for help. Glenn stayed up in the cabin to watch over Juan. .
Connection to Course Content: I think that throughout the story that there was something between the kids; something that kept them together and helped them escape.
