Capital Punishment

Being Muslim the decision of using capital punishment or not is already laid out for me. Looking at this subject through the eyes of the Islamic religion makes the decision somewhat easier due to the fact that as Muslims we believe that Allah will take care of everything. As long as the process of putting someone to death follows the Islamic way the rest is up to Allah. If the person is wrongfully convicted it is believed that Allah will intervene in the after-life and right the wrong. If someone is sentenced to die then that is what Allah wants to happen, Allah has decided that it's time for this person to leave the earth and stand in front of him and the rest is in his hands. For the most part I agree with these beliefs and find comforting that Allah is watching over, but in some rare circumstances I believe that capital punishment should not be put to use.
From the days of Hammurabi to the present, the human need for revenge has lasted through the decades. Arguments have been made that the feeling of revenge and hate towards the actor of a heinous murder are just as evil as the actions of the murderer in the first place. What isn't taken into account is that the perpetrator of the crime started this cycle of hate by murdering an innocent person, and in my opinion is no longer on the same level and becomes less than human. When the bereaved are told not to feel angry or revengeful in my opinion is a slap in the face. When the family of a murdered victim can find forgiveness in their hearts it's nothing short of amazing but then to turn and tell the next family to do the same is unbelievable. People differ in their ways of dealing with traumatic experiences and if there are feelings of revenge in the seeking of a death sentence in my opinion that is okay and maybe even healthy in a way. .
Whatever will help the family members heal easier should be done, a person that murders in my eyes then becomes less than human and even being humanely put to death doesn't fit the crime.
