" Elizabeth quickly tried to dismiss that thought as paranoia and walked to the door of the office and knocked. The doctor then looked up from the paper work that her eyes were buried in and she told Elizabeth to sit down. When Elizabeth took her seat in that comfortable leather chair in front of the doctor's desk, the doctor stood up and walked over to the door and kicked out the rubber stopper, allowing the door to shut behind her. At that moment Elizabeth felt as if it weren't good news and got an incredible pain in her abdomen causing her to double over. The doctor rushed over to Elizabeth to see what was wrong and Elizabeth, fighting back tears blurted out "So it is true, I am pregnant?" The Doctor silently nodded her head and Elizabeth could hold back the tears no longer. She was now 21, with no job and no education past high school and about to have a baby. .
On the way home Elizabeth tried to figure out what she might do, she surely couldn't call David and ask for his help, he had made it quite clear that he wanted nothing to do with her or the baby that he was in part responsible for. She couldn't even call her mother because she was sure that her parents would disown her. In the end, Elizabeth decided to call her friend Jill, Jill had been Liz's best friend since Junior High and had been through a similar situation in High School, surely she could offer some advice and some guidance through this trying time. .
When she got home she picked up the phone and dialed Jill's number, telling her the whole story and asking her for her advice. As expected, Jill was an enormous help to Elizabeth, telling her that no matter what happened, Jill would always stand by her, that she shouldn't worry about a thing. After talking for a while, Jill suggested that Elizabeth tell her mother about the situation, saying that her mother would understand, but Liz knew better. Liz explained that her mother would not understand, that her parents would probably disown her and most definitely would not go along with an abortion for their daughter.
