Diabetes

So someone could be eating a lot of food and getting all the glucose he needs, but without insulin, there is no way for the body to use the glucose for energy. The glucose can't get into cells of the body without insulin. .
Type 2 diabetes is also known as adult-onset diabetes or non insulin-dependent diabetes. Their body is either not making enough insulin or is not properly using the insulin. When a person has this kind of diabetes, the pan-creas usually can still make insulin, but the person's body needs more than the pancreas can make. People that are overweight, have high stress, over the age of 40, and/or have a family history of diabetes are more likely to be diagnosed with this type of diabetes. Many people don't notice that they have diabetes. Of-ten they feel normal. Most people go on for around seven years, by that time the disease is firmly established and difficult to treat. .
Gestational diabetes appears only in pregnant women who haven't previ-ously had either type 1 or type 2 diabetes. By the time gestational diabetes is detected, a baby's organs are already fully formed, so the baby won't develop diabetes. After the child is born, the diabetes ends, but later on in life it is likely for the mother to get type 2 diabetes. .
You may find symptoms of being very thirsty, having to go to the bathroom very frequently to urinate, loss of weight, increased hunger, blurry vision, irritabil-ity, tingling or numbness in the hands or feet, frequent skin-bladder or gum infec-tions, wounds that don't heal, and/or extreme unexplained fatigue. These symp-toms could mean you have diabetes, it wouldn't hurt to go to the doctor and get it checked out. In some cases, there are no symptoms, this happens at times with type 2 diabetes. In this case, people can live for months or even years without knowing they have the disease. .
Neither type 1 nor type 2 diabetes is curable. But with the right treatment you can control your blood sugar and stay healthy.
