The next morning my cousin apologized to her parents for arguing with them. She told them that she loved them, and she finally understood that her parents had a reason to be concerned.
Next, Jordan Pundik (of A New Found Glory), says, "Love is another word for regret". I have thought about his concept and I disagree with his statement. His reason for saying that must be he had a tragic experience with a girlfriend. People that were in love do not regret loving who they loved. People like Jordan need to recall back when they were in love with them and think why they were in love with them in the first place. Who knows, maybe they were not even in love with them at all. .
People mistake love for lust or infatuation. Sadly, in society some men lie to women, and say they love them. They say this so the women feel more comfortable with their man, and decide they are ready to ask them to up to their apartment. Now not all men lie about loving someone, but it does happen. Women also mistake love. They get it confused with infatuation. When a girl has large crush on a boy, and he finally asks her out the girl feels loved. Later that day the girl goes home and calls her best friend, to tell her the good news. Towards the end of their conversation the girl says, "I love that boy". This girl was so infatuated with her crush the moment he showed interest in her she developed this "love" for him. Maybe one day this boy and girl will fall in love, but for now she is just ecstatic that her boy likes her. .
In addition, people need to feel loved. People can feel loved just by being heard or receiving attention. People that do not feel loved become depressed and separate themselves from others. A gloomy example would be they two boys in the Columbine shootings. According to news reports Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold never quite fit in their school. In school, they would write morbid poems and read them aloud to their classmates.
