Love

Love is myth, legend, lie, an over-told story to fuel dreams. Girls grow up and go to sleep every night to dream of a prince charming who will one day ride up to them on an ivory horse and sweep them off of their feet to take them away from their everyday chaotic existence. They dream of a cozy cottage placed on the side of a hill, surrounded by fields blooming wild flowers whose names cannot be pronounced and of children who take heed to their every word and silence them every night with a, "Good night, I love you." .
The over romanticized tales about being locked away in a tower and suddenly rescued from oblivion have done nothing but put a blindfold over girls" eyes to give them false hope. Some believe that they were once in love with someone, these feelings, however result in heartbreak, depression and in some cases even suicide. If love truly existed, it would not leave every time someone fell into it. .
How can something not seen, felt, touched or tasted be defined as existent? Love is a conspiracy, something man-made, a prank of sorts. It was conjured with the sole intention of fooling people into wasting time waiting for that perfect person to come into their lives. The truth of the matter is that no one is perfect for one another. They could search the entire face of the earth looking for the one person who would make them the center of their universe but would they feel the same way? Fairy tales are fantasy, illusions some are brought up to believe. The lucky ones wake up only to find that not every fiber of hay can be spun to gold.
