The Good Life

Many women in today's society are very involved with jobs and kids, but there is still a certain control of men in certain areas. I think a role she would be against would be all these moms and wives that are "suppose" to stay at home, while the man works. .
Their were different view's you see with the knight's tale also. In the knight's tell you find out that happiness and the good life are fighting for your country. We see this in the first book we read, Homer's Iliad. He also thought that women should have there role of staying home and taking care of the kids. .
There was another strong view we read in the Canterbury Tales. It was the author himself. Geoffrey Chaucer also seemed to have a completely opposite view of the good life then the Wife of Bath. Chaucer believed that the good life was the hard working people. Chaucer was one who was for the middle class people because they were looked at as one of the hardest working class. He seemed to not think that happiness revolves around things that are giving but things that are earn. Although he disagreed with what was said by the wife of bath, he felt the importance to show the perspective of the women view back then. Not all women had agreed with the wife of bath, but not all views are considered to be accepted by everyone. There was also a different view by St. Augustine Confessions.
In the Confessions, by Saint Augustine, Augustine addressed himself articulately and passionately to the constant questions that stirred the minds and hearts of men since time began. The Confessions tells a story in the form of a long conversion with God. Through this conversion to Catholic Christianity, Augustine encounters many aspects of love. These forms of love help guide him towards an ultimate relationship with God. His restless heart finally finds peace and rest in God at the end of The Confessions. Augustine finds many ways in which he can find peace in God.
