Bean Trees

1-3his book has the narrator is Marietta Greer or as she was know later in her life a Missy. In my opinion she is a high-spirited young women who is happy with her life so far. She is not a bad student and truly beliefs that she has done okay in school. She like all of us has main goals. She wants to n9ot get pregnant and escape the rural Connecticut where she has lived her entire life. She receives that chance when she gets a job in a hospital. She at that point has started to expand her horizons and the author talks about her life in great detail to help us understand that. From the first chapters I can deduct that Missy or Taylor is a very strong and independent women. She had the gut to stay in the hospital for 5,.45 years she also had enough courage to leave her family life behind and drive out into the open. It wasn't long before she encountered a problem .Her whole life she tried not to get pregnant but she soon ends up it an Indian child in her hand. She like all teen girls doesn't want to be a mother but she ends up being one when the child in handed into her hands. if I was her I would be so afraid of taking in a kid I dint know and having to raise her. She must be very independent to have the courage to take in an unknown kid. I like how the author shows us her independence by including turtle into the picture.
