Around the World In Eighty Days

Phileas Fogg attempted and succeeded at leading a moral life. He was a very generous man, showing great generosity to other people. Very determined, Mr. Fogg could have had many opportunities to give up when the trip had come across many obstacles. Although he was very serious and very business-type, he was still a kind and gentle man. Phileas Fogg's great qualities, few including his generosity, determination, kind and gentle, were some qualities that made him a moral man.
Mr. Fogg was very generous and giving throughout the trip. When situations arose, he would be willing to pay nearly anything in order to overcome the obstacle and move on. He gave a captain and owner of the boat ten thousand more pounds than the boat was worth, just in order that he was able to use some of the parts of the boat for wood for the power of the boat. He also paid way for Passepartout to take the journey with him, and also for Mr. Fix to come along with the deals and reservations he previously made with people. He rescued Mrs. Auoda and cared for her the entire time, and even took her home with him when her relatives could not be found. Mr. Fogg was a very generous man, as can be shown in the story.
Mr. Fogg was an incredibly determined man. Many of times during the trip, he came across obstacles that held him up and caused him to lose time. When the group discovered the suttee in which Mrs. Auoda would have been killed, they took the time to rescue her, but Mr. Fogg continued to be determined to win the bet. Mr. Fix got Passepartout unconscious in order that they would miss one of the boats. The train was delayed because the conductors doubted the train could make it over the bridge. They had to find a way to cross over from American to London within a very small amount of time, but he continued to stay determined that he would make it in time. All of the incidents that happened made them lose a lot of time, but never the faith or determination of Mr.
