My Days in the Service

It is too early in the morning for this. Who could be pounding my door down at 2:00 in the morning? I remember saying who ever it is their going to wish they hadn't as if I was really going to be kicking anyone's ass a 2:00 in the morning half asleep. I slowly rolled out of bed and tried to find something to wear. In this process I some how had mistaken the dresser for a football at kicked it as though I was trying to make a field goal. .
After jumping around like a kid on a trampoline I finally find something to put on. It just so happens that the only clothes I can find are a Scooby Doo shirt and a pair of shorts that make Speedos look big. Yet to this day have I been able to figure out where those shorts came from. This of course does not add to my current stage of excitement. As I get to the door I look through the peep hole to find the one and only person that I definitely would not want to see me like this. My Commander, yeah it was just great, nothing like your commander seeing you at 2:00 in the morning in a Scooby doo shirt and spandex shorts. I undo the dead bolt which lets off a loud thud due to the door being out of alignment and let him in. I can see the corner of his mouth wrinkle up into a shit eating grin and can tell that it is taking everything he has got not to bust out laughing at my wonderful choice in clothing. .
Knowing that no news could be good at this time of the morning, especially when it is your commander, I cut straight to it and ask what it is that he needs. I was desperately hoping it is something minor so I can go back to bed. The smirk slowly fades away showing my assumption of no news at this time being good correct. This of course puts my classy attire as the last thing on my mind. He tells me that I need to have my things ready in an hour and report to D hanger and to plan for two weeks. A surge of both excitement and fear rush through my body.
