Procrastination

I have been planning to write this essay for about two weeks now. The reason I have finally buckled down and started on this is because I have finally found the time, right? Wrong. I am working on this now because I just happened to look on my syllabus and realized that the prewriting draft is due this Saturday. What is procrastination? Procrastination is the act or habit of doing anything other than your highest priority task, and waiting it out until the end of laziness.
Why do people procrastinate? It is that constant excuse of I"ll get to it, or I just don't have enough time in a day. I can't come up with any ideas. It is a psychological problem, what happens is we set out to and actually make a plan to work on a project. However as the saying says, "actions speak louder than words". We never actually get to the action part and so we are left squandering around last minute trying to get everything done. We find that the time is upon us and we have no window or space to complete that task.
Many college students such as myself have adapted this dreaded word into our permanent book of vocabulary terms. Although, it is a bad habit, it can at times be a good thing. Procrastination can cause you to be more focused on your assignment. It will allow you to work harder and more diligently at completing your task. It also allows you to come up with numerous ideas on topics that can later on help you with the flow of your work. Many people perform best when then they are under pressure. It is sort of a rush for others, trying to beat that time, or the due date and getting all of the work complete in time. Then in the end after all of that work still come out with a good grade on the assignment.
On the other hand being a procrastinator can also leads to some disappointment. It is that distorted "crooked way" of thinking that promotes to this irregular behavior pattern. These patterns can be seen more often in not in a student.
