From Candidate to President

Speech must be clear so the constituents can understand the candidate's ideas and promises with out confusion. .
Many of us would like to believe that elections are solely based on policy issues and budget proposals but, in the real world of politics character matters just as much. Voters see a candidate's sense of self-confidence and personal style as an indication of how he/she will behave in office. This is so because issues of an election year will change through out the term but, the character of the candidate will not. Neither personality nor character can be practiced or created. A strong character can be an influence on other aspects of the campaign process. One of these aspects is fundraising, which is important for a candidate to do. It is nearly impossible, even on a state/local level, to run a successful campaign with out a large amount of money. A high-quality fundraiser must have people skills. Contributors only give money to candidates they feel will win, employ policies they support, and give "insider" access to legislators. Candidates must convince several that these possibilities are attainable. This means fundraisers (candidates) have got to contact supporters, PACs (Political Action Committees), and interest groups constantly beginning two or three years before primaries. Fundraises have to make appearances at luncheons, dinners, and organization meetings to please future or current contributors. The process of fundraising is essential because candidates that are well financed can devote themselves fully to the other aspects of campaigning. One of these other aspects is representing their (candidate's) party nationally. Since the candidate is an aspiring party leader, representing a party is a good way to practice and show their party their abilities. To represent a party candidates ought to have similar ideology, work for and with grass roots programs, and work with "presidential coattails" (those running for state and local offices in the same political party).
