Dance

             Dancing is a form of expressive art often used to display or communicate personal emotions usually happiness and excitement. Dance can also have different meaning and purposes other than expression of feelings. For example, in the Indian culture dance has a specific purpose one is when there is a drought they perform a dance called the "rain dance" this is believed to bring rain. Dance is also a big part of culture and tradition, which passed down from generation to generation, such as in my case. If I had a million dollars to become a dancer I would be a traditional Persian dancer with knowledge and experience in belly (oriental) dancing. The biggest reason why I want to be a traditional Persian dancer is because it's a part of my culture, which I"m very proud of, and I would like the opportunity to inform and acknowledge other people about my culture. Another reason has to do with the various movements involved in this form of dance, such as coordinate hand and hip movements to the rhythm of the music.
             To perform this kind of dance the first thing you need is the emotional support of your family. Emotional support is very important in any case but to be a dancer you need to be committed and to have the support of your family will help with your self of esteem. An other important quality required is you need to be precise and accurate as well as be comfortable with moving your hips either side to side or in a circular motion. You have to be precise in the sense that when you move your hips to the rhythm of the music your hands must fallow your hips. Some of my physical strengths are I can move easily to the music coordinating both hand and hip gestures. My weakness is my speed in doing so, I don't have the capability to move to fast beats cause than I concentrate on what I will do next instead of flowing to the music, I like to take my time and let the music guide me. As far as I"m concerned I don't have any artistic weaknesses because I find myself to be very artistic and creative when it comes to creating moves to the music.
