The Good of Man

Expressing myself in essays that we wrote this semester got better as the papers kept on coming. The last three essays are good examples of that.
             Here are summaries of the essays I wrote in class. .
             The first essay that I wrote was about an event that happened in my life. Write how the event changed me in anyway. I wrote about my trip from Nigeria to Canada. How I had dreams when I was young and coming to Canada is helping my dreams to true. I also stated that coming to Canada made me appreciate a lot of things people take for granted. In this essay I learned to express my feelings and expand on what I really want to say.
             The second essay that I wrote was comparing two articles. The two articles that I picked were entitled "Let Gays Marry" and "Leave Marriage Alone". Both of this articles appeared in the Newsweek in 1996. I had to compare the similarities and differences between the articles. "Let Gays Marry," explained why gays should marry each other. I stated that there are people who have rights. "Leave Marriage Alone," explained how it is not right for man and man or woman and woman to marry. I also commented on how the society is changing nowadays. This was the first essay that started to make me to think and read critically.
             The third essay that I wrote was to synthesizing and explaining the rhetorical appeals in an article. The article I choose was by William Bennett entitled "Leave Marriage Alone". I explained the structure the author used, which was a tropical structure. I also talked about the author's background, the audience he was writing to, and the purpose of him writing the article. This essay was like a second step of me using my critical think and reading. At this point I started to feel reaaly comfortable about my writing.
             The fourth essay that I wrote was an argument paper. It was about the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sports. I explain how the use is increasing and getting out of hand.
