The Life of Benjamin Franklin

For my report I have decided to write about Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin Franklin invented many things and accomplished many goals. Many of his accomplishments are still used today in our economies. He is considered part of history itself.
Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706. His family lived in Boston, Massachusetts. His father's name was Josiah and his mother's name was Abiah. Benjamin was their eighth child and they would later have two more. However, Josiah already had seven children from his first marriage. So, Ben knew a lot about growing up in a BIG family! He had nine brothers and seven sisters! .
Ben's father, Josiah, worked as a candle and soap maker and made sure that each of his sons learned a trade. Josiah had plans for Ben to enter the clergy, so he sent him to the Grammar School. Ben quickly learned to read and write but he did not do well in Arithmetic. Soon, Josiah changed his mind about Ben and took him out of school. Ben began to work in Josiah's candle and soap business, but Ben was not happy. Josiah then decided that Ben could learn the printing business. So, at age twelve, Ben became an apprentice in his brother's printing business. After his childhood, Ben Franklin set out on a voyage to find the perfect place to set a print shop. After a long, tiring time on a boat, he finally made it to Philadelphia, where he wandered around in search of a place he could stay. He eventually set up a print house there. He then went to England to further better his career in printing, by working in some of the best print houses in England. After a year, Ben had set back for England. When he returned, his printing career really shot up. He created one of the only newspapers in the province, it was called the Gazette. Because Ben was such a good printer, he put the other newspapers out of business. Franklin held a part in The Assembly, in it, he held a lot of respect and if he normally wanted to do something, it was approved.
