NASA

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) program has been working on a budget for more than 40 years. Over the past decades, NASA safety administators have become more lax on their inspections. Because of this, more accidents have occured. when this happens, more money than what is alloted is needed to do the repairs. if the neccessary percautions were taken care of to begin with, there wouldnt be any accidents. Safety officials have always just checked for the large problem areas. they dont check the small things that could produce serious disasters. the Columbia accident could have been avoided if some simple tests would have been run. people think that more money is needed to get the space program back on its feet. why would the government give funding to a program that has made no effort to assure the safety of our austronauts? a lot of the mistakes that are made in space could be avoided if proper care and training was given. the columbia accident is looked at as a tragic event. while it is very tragic that we lost innoccent people, i feel it was something that could have been avoided. by giving money to a program such as NASA, we are depriving more helpful programs from prospering NASA has not proven itself to the U.S. There have been entirely to many incidents. for every problem it requires an excessive amount of money to fix. when the NASA administrators create their yearly budget, they should plan for minor and major accidents, and if none happen, the excess money would be carried over to the next year. if that course of action is taken, the program has to pay their own concequences, if no accidents occur, which means safety standards are raised, they reap the benefits. programs such as education shouldnt pay the price of another programs mistake. you may ask, "well what happens if NASA cannot make this budget plan work?" if they cannot learn to manage they money they are given, they should pay the penalty.
