Public Speaking

If you include these four components of the introduction, you should be all right.
The next thing that makes a good speech is the body. You need to have information to back up what you are trying to say. In a common speech there are usually three main points that you want to get across. They are very broad and you have to elaborate on them. You do this by sub points of your main points. You could have them on anything you are trying to say. If you are talking about smoking you could have who smokes, the risk of smoking, and how it can help you out in the future. Three very broad subjects to expand on. Not anything tough to do, but you need these. In your sub points is where you go into all your detail. You mention numbers, facts, pretty much anything that will make your speech better. The body is the most important part of your speech. This is where the audience is going to believe in what you are saying or not. So you can't just blab out stuff, you need to know what you are talking about. .
The last thing that makes your speech complete is the conclusion. You need to be able to wrap up a good speech with a good conclusion. You restate your thesis statement in your central idea to reinstate it into the listeners mind. You pretty much are summarizing your speech with this. You also need to review your points as well. A conclusion can make or break your speech. It is the last thing that the audience hears and if you end badly, they will think your speech is bad. The thing that I like to do to wrap up my speech is leave the audience with another mouth dropping fact. Just so that have something to think about. That also indicates that your speech is done and you don't have to say, "I"m done". That just doesn't sound good. You want the audience to know that you are finished with the speech, not to tell them.
There are many different types of speeches that you can perform. You can pretty much talk about whatever you want.
