Dr. Murray Tried for Manslaughter of Michael Jackson

             Conrad Murray, the personal physician of the late Michael Jackson, took a turn for the worse after the 911 call was played to jurors on September 29th. Murray chose not to call for an ambulance for nearly thirty minutes after he first realized that Jackson needed medical attention - a fact that prosecutors are calling an attempt at a cover-up (Los Angeles Times).
             Jackson's security guard, Alberto Alvarez, took the stand against Murray, claiming that when he walked in the room, he saw Jackson's lifeless body on the floor and Murray acting incompetent. Murray made a half-hearted attempt at CPR, according to Alvarez, who reported that Murray was using one hand, performing thrusts sporadically while Jackson was lying on his mattress, a soft surface. Murray then asked, "Does anybody know CPR?" although he was the doctor on hand. Murray then calmly told Alvarez that the singer had "a bad reaction" and needed to be taken to the hospital. However, instead of calling an ambulance right away, he collected medical vials and pill bottles and instructed Alvarez to put them in a bag. The most suspicious evidence so far is that Murray asked Alvarez to remove an IV bag containing "a milky white substance," a description that suggests it could have been surgical anesthetic, propofol (Los Angeles Times).
