That is why one of the biggest lessons I want to teach others is that it is never too late to become educated, so that they may have the opportunity to be successful in life and overcome their obstacles. I mainly want my children to learn this lesson so that they don't have to go through the suffering and financial struggles that I have had to endure. .
One of the biggest situations that I have had to deal with in my lifetime is the way I was treated by my half-sister. She had always resented me and made me feel worthless. She always made me feel that I wasn't capable of accomplishing anything that I tried to do. It is not so much what she did to make me feel this way. It was the things she said. On several occasions she told me that I was stupid, ignorant and that I would never amount to anything in life. I remember her always telling me that nobody liked me and that I was a loner. In a sense, she made me feel like a complete failure. This took over my life for years, until 2007 when my father passed away. I decided to no longer put up with her treatment anymore, and to focus only on my family, my future, and on the positive things that would help me grow and succeed in life. I want my family and friends to learn and understand that nobody should have the power to bring their spirits down by making them feel like they are worthless, like my half-sister did to me.
One of the biggest qualities I have always carried is being a humanitarian. This is something that I want to instill in my children, as part of my legacy to them. I would love for them to have that same desire and drive that I have always had, to want to help people who are ill, by taking care of their personal needs and being good listeners, when they need someone to talk to. Since the age of thirteen, I have had a strong desire to want to help others. It all began when my grandfather, who was like a second father to me, was diagnosed with colon cancer.
