Food Processing

They are also never let outside; both of these animals are trapped inside of an enclosed dark building. This leads to the animals having to sit in this enclosed area with their own feces. This is a very unsanitary way for the animals to live. .

             The sanitation factor of the meat from these animals is what really bothers me because I love both chicken and burgers and steak. Knowing that my food was probably covered in feces at one point scares me. According to Food Inc. they put the meat through a bath of ammonia to clean it off and remove diseases from it. Also all of the meat that is in these factories is all jumbled together so instead of buying a steak and seeing it as from one cow there could be thousands of different cows in the small bit of meat. This is a bad way to go after the fact of meat processing because one cow can be contaminated but instead of just taking a small portion of meat away it makes every single piece of meat that was in the batch to be bad. Another sanitation factor in the food processing industry is how some fruits and vegetables are picked before they are green and just left into the truck until they are finished ripening. This procedure removes much of the sweetness that you would get out of a normal tomato that is fully ripened on the vine. Speaking of food that is not very promising or healthy for someone to eat, fast food is one thing that I have a very strong opposition to. .

             Fast food is one of America's largest money making industries there is. It is said that 1 in 3 children go to a fast food restaurant of a meal every day. Fast food is one thing that I forbid myself to eat because I know some people who work at some and I have heard how unsanitary the kitchens are and also how some of the food is made. There is also the reason that I can no longer eat it because if I do I either get an upset stomach or I end up getting sick because of it. I know many people that all they eat is fast food and I don't know how they can function throughout the day.
