             at a higher risk of divorce, but the majority of families that go through divorce struggle with .

             means these parents are, not only financially troubled, but they tend to lack in child-to-parent .
             relationships and social development skills. Parents are lacking in these skills and then create .
             premature relationships with their partner. By creating premature relationships couples don't .
             understand each other fully. This results in trust issues and creates tension between the couples. .
             All this does for children is set an example of a behavior they are most associated with. When .
             children witness this kind of behavior in their own stages of development they only have a .
             negative example to feed off of.
             With the factors outlined above, research takes this discussion further by explaining how divorce .
             affects social development specifically in children. Research states that children need to be raised .
             in stable environments and be provided with adequate parental care. Children should not go .
             through too many changes especially any that they are not capable of understanding. The .
             younger the child is the more likely they are to be incapable of understanding the situation. .
             Therefore, the more changes parents put them through results in more confusion and a loss of .
             security. Lux, Jacqueline Genesio (Fall 2010) explains in their research that children seek .
             stability and a firm guidance from their parents. Stability and guidance creates a strong .
             foundation for children so they are able to successfully develop social skills. So, when parents .
             fail to provide these keys factors to children, this causes social development to start to deviate.
