Mothers at Work and at Home

Being a mother and raising a family is not as simple as many people believe it to be. As the saying goes, "Every mother is a working mother." Being a mother is a full-time job; taking care of the family, nurturing and educating the children and managing household chores are just a few of the responsibilities of a mother.              The article mentioned about empowerment and financial dependence as one of the factors why mothers today are working. As we are into the era of women empowerment, many women now are aware of their rights and desires in giving their explicit contribution to society and that they become interested to be not just earning on their own but to realize that they can take part in any organization that they are into as it made them feel useful and important to the expense of leaving the house and saying "goodbyes" to the children every time they go to work with a broken heart. The mother prepares herself to face the conflicts she would be expecting of the decision in going to work. This is the "work-family" conflict mentioned in the article. As my experience as a working mother, this conflict has been very true to me for seven years.
