There are a lot of teenage mothers who are on welfare, which is a drain on society. There are also teenage mothers who continuously have babies, again burdening society. It is also a cycle that gets perpetuated. Studies have shown that children of teenage mothers are more likely to become teenage mothers themselves. On the other side, people also argue that, if society would do more to help teen mothers, the problem would not be so big. Some people also argue that if there was more birth control/sex education in the schools, there would be fewer pregnancies. And there are those who claim that abstinence education would stop all of this.
