1.1.1 Less Employee Satisfaction.
Lack of employee satisfaction is a significant issue depicted in this business. The distance between the management and employees are the main reason for employees to be dissatisfied at work. This result in employee misbehaviour, giving their friends extra food and being rude to the managers and customers. Herzberg's two factor theory suggests that essential factors such as recognition, advancement, achievement and growth are characteristics of job satisfaction and motivation, whereas extrinsic factors such as ineffective working conditions and relationship with the management are associated with job dissatisfaction (Barrile & Cameron, 2009). Thus, it is clear that the business has portrayed extrinsic factors which results in employee job dissatisfaction. Consequently, as a result of job dissatisfaction, Marisa and two of the night managers reconciled from the business causing a lack of skilled personnel. .
Additionally, when there is a increase in percentage of unsold foods, Marcello cut out any benefits such as free pizzas, salads or drinks that the employee's had. These increase the dissatisfaction of workers in the workplace. Eliminating employee benefits, which is a form of a reward, decreases the effort of individuals and thereby they are unable to achieve maximised efficiency in their production as projected by the Reinforcement theory in Robbins et al., (2012). The theory of expectancy which concentrations on choice, effort and persistence states that "Individuals act in definite ways based on their expectation that will be followed by a given outcome that is attractive" (Bolman & Deal, 1997). Hence, the company lacks the three important variables of the equity theory which are the effort- performance linkage, performance-reward linkage and attractiveness of the reward (Latham, 2007).
