Overview of Common Lifestyle Diseases

             Types of Lifestyle Diseases .
LD are believed to be rooted somewhat in an individual's or society's standard of living. These conditions occur in great number in developed countries with long-living citizens, and thus as explained earlier may be divided into disease of civilization or diseases of longevity. Diseases of civilization rely more on societal influences such as diabetes and obesity, while diseases of longevity are those that occur frequently as an individual ages such as cancer, stroke and heart diseases. Some conditions like heart disease can be influenced by both industrialization and advanced age and the terms disease of civilization and disease of longevity could be used interchangeably to refer to LD.
Since industrialized regions tend to have less healthy, higher-fat diets, and food consumption drives many diseases of civilization. Obesity is one obvious example, and heavier individuals are likewise susceptible to a number of progressive health issues like diabetes and heart disease. The cholesterol-heavy diets of developed regions also lend to higher rates of heart disease and stroke and some scientific research suggests diet may play a role in the development of cancer. From the 20th to the 21st century, as living standards rose and diets degraded in numerous regions, heart diseases and cancer became the leading causes of death in many of these regions (Carrier 2014).
There are various types of LD and they are not limited to those discussed below:.
             Alzheimer's Disease.

It is a slowly progressive disease of the brain that is characterized by impairment of memory and eventually by disturbances in reasoning, planning, language, and perception and a real breakdown of the cells of the brain occurs.
