The Depths of Love

            What is love? Love is defined as an intense feeling of deep affection. The only problem is, how do you know if you are in love if you have never experienced it? Can an infant be in love with its blanket because it cant go to sleep without it at night? I personally have a deep affection for my motorcycle but I dont believe I am in love with it. If someone who thinks they are in love with pizza was suddenly told by their doctor they could no longer have any become depressed and lonely? I dont believe they would since the pizza had no way of reciprocating that love they were receiving. .
             You would first have to decide what love is to you. Once you have defined that word in your own terms. You may have a deep affection for the smell of a particular cologne or perfume that you are totally powerless too. Then again, you may be infatuated or attracted to anyone who reminds you of Patrick Swayze's character in Road House. Humans tend to fall in love with fictionalize characters rather than what's truly obtainable. We all convince ourselves of things like this- not necessarily about say anything, but about any fictionalized portrayals of romance that happens to hit us in the right place, at the right time. Television, movies, and music, all have us to believe that the love of a partner is what we were put here on Earth to experience. Coldplay songs deliver an amorphous, irrefutable interpretation of how being in love is supposed to feel, and people find themselves wanting that feeling for real. .
             Loneliness is just what the word sounds like to me: being by oneself. To be more specific, I think it has more to do with not being able to share your world with someone else. IT is the act of being without and not having what you believe your heart desires. A good example that I have seen of being truly lonely is when one someone loses a spouse. Now I am not referring to someone crying or experiencing what they think is heartbreak over a breakup with a boyfriend or girlfriend that they were dating for six months or less.
