My Attitude Then, My Attitude Now

I always took things for granted, was never thankful, was always stubborn, and was very hard headed. My attitude has much improved in some years. Now, I am always thankful, I never take things for granted, I am not as stubborn as I was, and I am not very hard headed. When I was a child I wanted everything to go my way and I felt like I needed everything I wanted. If I asked for something but didn't get it, I would throw temper tantrums until I got what I wanted. When I didn't want to eat but my mom was making me I would play with my food until she let me leave the table. I didn't know how to say thank you or you're welcome. I just took what I wanted and left. Whenever my mom would buy me a surprise I didn't say thank you because I thought I deserved it. I would look around at all the other kids my age and they would say thank you and you're welcome to everybody. I didn't think those words meant anything.
It took me about 12 years to say thank you and you're welcome to people that did something for me. Now I'm always saying thank you and you're welcome to people. I don't take things for granted anymore, I know everything isn't going to go the way I want it to go, and I know I am not going to get every single thing that I want. When I don't receive the things I want I don't throw tantrums anymore, I just accept it. I finally realized that having manners and being respectful will take you a long way in this world. I always tell my mom how thankful I am for her and all the things she did for me. I always tell her thank you for the things she got me when I was a child and I also tell her I am welcome for all the things she thanked me for and I didn't tell her I was welcome. .
I am glad my attitude changed when it did cause if it hadn't had happened then, I'm not sure if it would've ever changed. My perspective of life has changed based on my attitude and it has changed for the better. I am thankful for everything in my life and everything that everybody has ever done for me.
