Concepts on the War in Iraq

            In this essay I will be comparing two novels that I have read over the past week. The first novel is "The War over Iraq: Saddam's Tyranny and America's Mission " by Lawrence F. Kaplan and William Kristol. Both of these authors were highly regarded due to their high level of achievements which made their book reliable globally. Kaplan and Kristol's novel came from a conservative viewpoint which favored the war in Iraq. "The War over Iraq: Saddam's Tyranny and America's Mission, " argued that the United States invade Iraq to and remove the world from a threatening tyrant. The second novel I read is "Behind the Invasion of Iraq " by the Research Unit for Political Economy (RUPE). The group RUPE's book came from a more liberal viewpoint which oppose the war in Iraq. "Behind the Invasion of Iraq " explains how the real reasons for war in Iraq ties in with the United States economic and political interests. In this comparative essay I will be introducing the authors and their beliefs, the Bush Doctrine, the real reasons behind war in Iraq, and explaining the arguments in both novels to conclude which is more plausible.
             The author of "Behind the Invasion of Iraq " is the Research Unit for Political Economy (RUPE) which was set up in Mumbai (Bombay), India, in the late 1980s. The group RUPE is a registered public trust which runs on a voluntary labor and its limited finances raises from personal contributions. The group RUPE is concerned with analyzing, at the theoretical and empirical levels, various aspects of the economic life and institutions. The Research Unit for Political Economy aims to compile, analyze, and present information and statistics. The group RUPE believes that the United States should build a new democratic world order in the Middle .

The Research Unit for Political Economy has a more sober view of the workings of global power than the many accounts of the ways in which the alignment of global power is changing or will be changed by the United States war on terrorism.
