After the event in Connecticut, the congress has struggled to make a progress. They aren't doing all they can to prevent another mass shooting. The senate has took action to put out plenty proposals push by the President to require background checks, assault weapons ban and gun trafficking. Having this gun control enforced will reduce the number of lives being killed by a gun. There have been some disagreements on having a background check for people trying to purchase a gun.
