People Bomb

            Overpopulation has created many troubles which can be seen through some of the problems associated with it. This is a very serious problem which has to be dealt with; many countries have realized that overpopulation needs to be stopped any way possible. .
             An important point made by the movie was when they talked about Mega Cities. These cities are really troubled because of the fact that there is such a gap between the rich and the poor. Sewage is thrown into the ocean there really is no transportation except buses and the police are an underdog because of lack of personnel. These countries are not well aware of the dangers of sex without contraceptives or birth control. Desperate Decisions showed how women in Ethiopia go trough illegal abortions when they know they are going to have a girl. Since it is not sanitary these abortions sometimes not only kill the child but the woman who is pregnant.
             Some important points were stated in Who's Overpopulated? For example since there are so many people living in a certain country they control the impact on society. It explained how eventually a baby born in the US would use energy, wood, steel, and oxygen. Also in the US there are so many people driving cars, living in houses made of steel, using oxygen, and electric appliances. Therefore the US's population impact is much greater than the countries that do not have a population problem.
             As When Babies Die came on, it explained the problems which these kids go through leading to death. Since so many children are dying this causes for families to have more babies leading to overpopulation. Families have an average of six babies and every three seconds two babies are born in India. In Nepal about 1/5 of children die before the age 5. In The Fall Out they explain how countries for example India try to regulate the problem of too many babies. One of the ways they do it is by sterilizing women. When No Choice was on it showed how people took drastic measures by choking their new born babies moments after birth.
