Online School - It Really Works!

Online public schooling is a flexible program where a student can attend what level is best suited for their personal needs and their family's schedule; there were no set times when student's had to attend. This meant with the flexibility it would allowed your family more time to bond. With these online programs, classes could be taken on family vacations. In my family we have completed lessons around a campfire during a family trip. There is a hidden benefit to online public schooling. There is also very little peer pressure, chances of being bullied, or violence.
             Within society, there were many perceptions of online public school programs. One perception towards online school were that in these schools offered an inadequate exposure for socialization. On the contrary, there was a study done by Dr. Patricia Lines in 2000. She found that homeschooled students were well adjusted, and socialized well compared to their peers. Even experts were unable to distinguish homeschooled kids from children receiving a public education. The online program I enrolled my son into the last year is a great example of this study. This school offered many opportunities for socialization with other children in their age and social group. On a daily basis my son, with all the other children in the online school, would be given opportunities to do live lessons, which is where they attended online classroom also other children in that class got to talk to each other. Even in some classes the children got to see each other on web cameras. Within the online live lesson they would play games with the teacher and each other on the topics of the day. Unlike most schools, online teachers don't have set office hours when you could talk to them, most of the public online teachers were available all day to answer question. Online public school also offers many things that public school offered such as clubs and student government.
