With the rise of use of protocol, VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Since its popularity VOIP has been trying to replace the tradition telephone network architecture worldwide.
             Nearly 10 % of cellphone subscribers are now subscribed to digital telephone service according to an article from 2005 in Japan and South Korea. According to Newsweek article it is expected that Internet telephony could be the "the next big thing". Starting late 2006 many companies and individuals all around the world are using VOIP.
             IP telephony to use internet connection with high bandwidth and other equipment with in the customer premises that transfer the telephone calls through the Internet or any other type of modern data network. The customer could also use system such as analog telephone adapter which interacts with the conventional analog phone to the IP equipment or it could also be an IP phone that has built in interface and networking technology attached to the desktop set. It could be very similar to traditional additional with handset, keypad and a ringer with a package. .
             In the early 2005 different software vendors and telephony operators came up with many softphone application that resembled like a traditional phone but has VOIP capability including microphone and headsets.
             Most digital system that are being used today mainly use proprietary hardware or protocol which provides IP interface.
