Cultural Anthropology

Throughout this whole class every time we talk about something new I learn something. This class makes me think more critically about the things that I eat and the religion I practice. In general it was all a learning experience because when we talked about the moka I had no idea who they were and that they were still people across the world that rely on nature to live. When I think of the moka I think of the Indians from way back in time because they are very similar because they kill animals to live and rely in nature resources to live. Most of the things we learned in class I could apply it to life because at first I was just taking the class because it was part of the liberal studies requirements, but after I was in here for a couple of weeks I've found out that the class is very interesting. It makes you think about things in a different manner. There's always a lot of ways a question can answered and a lot of ways you can look at someone's else culture and just because it's not our culture doesn't mean you have to look down at them a certain way because that's the way they was brought up . I say this when I think of the Indian's culture vs ours because they like organized marriages and we don't. We don't like organized marriages just because we weren't brought up like that we was brought up to find your own soul mate so that's why it's more similar to us. Same thing goes for the Indians when then wear there hijab we some Americans look at that they automatically say there a terrorist without taking a look into their culture to realize why they wear what they wear . There are so many new learning points you can take from this class. In the kayapo video that we saw in class that really made me think in a different way of.
In the kayapo video that we saw in class that really made me think in a different way of culture change and globalization because they use types of technology for there protection for example the kayapo used guns knives phones and anything else that they could get there hands on for protection.
