Juveniles and the Death Penalty

Most juveniles make many mistakes growing up and don't think about their choices rationally. There are too many factors that go into judging a juveniles behavior like peer pressure, environment, the way their being raised and mental state. Most juvenile's brains aren't even fully developed at that age. This is why I believe that juveniles should not be given the death penalty; they're too young to understand their actions and the consequences that come with their actions. They shouldn't be punished for the rest of their life when in reality their life has hardly begun. I believe it's possible that they can be rehabilitated and still be an active member in society despite the terrible mistake they made.
Whether or not to give juveniles life and try them as adults is one of the most controversial topics in today's court system. With the number of children in adult prisons and jails rising rapidly, questions are being asked as to why children have been committing such terrible crimes and how will they be stopped. But what some might not understand is that it's not always the children's fault for their poor choices and actions; most kids are a victim of their environment or their parents. During youth, environment, parents and friends all play a large part in a kid's life. Sometimes if the parents are not involved in the child's life they usually replace family with friends, and try to get help and opinions on different situations from them instead of a parent or authority figure. Teenagers interact with a lot of peer groups. Which results in some giving into peer pressure because they want to be liked, want to fit in, or because they think that other kids may make fun of them if they don't go along with the group. Others may go along because they are curious to try something new that others are doing. The idea that "everyone's doing it" may influence some kids to leave their better judgment, or their common sense, behind.
