Film Analysis - The Matrix

The Matrix is a computer simulated world where humans fight against agents. The world is powered by humans who are used like batteries. The film The Matrix begins showing us the Warner Brothers logo, however the logo is not its usual color but it is a slight green tinge. This could show us that the film is not an ordinary one and will be a bit strange, a bit different. The opening of the Warner Brothers logo at the beginning of the film is also accompanied by music which is also a bit strange and not the usual one. This tells me that the film is going to be a little bit eerie; the music is carried on throughout the film. .
The way that the creators of the matrix use computers to link the whole film together is continuous throughout the whole film. Computers and phones play an important part in the film, to me the matrix is like a virtual world. A virtual world that relates to us as the internet for us is a virtual world. During the film Tank uses computer programming to upload and download people into the matrix, just as we do when we are uploading and downloading items from the internet. So to me the matrix is like a real life version of the internet or a video game. This is shown at the end of the film, yet the significance of computers and phones is shown at the beginning also. For example at the beginning of the film Trinity is found using a lap top which is linked from the very opening scene. The opening scene is a blank screen then it is suddenly filled with numbers. The camera focuses on the top row of numbers which then focuses more on a zero. The camera then goes inside the zero and we enter into the matrix world. We are shown Agents and Trinity then appears again. She is trying to escape from the agents she runs to a phone box. We do not see where Trinity goes but she then appears in the other side of the matrix world where Tank is. This suggests that the phone box is like a port to another world such like our modems are connecting us to another world, the internet.
