Democracy and the Economy of the United Kingdom

As the use and access of Internet has been growing over this decade, young people might know about political principles and possible want to take part. Therefore, these methods clearly illustrate that they are able to enhance the democracy in the UK.
To solve issues in which Human Rights are not fully protected and constitutional arrangements, the Parliament should implement a written constitution. Having a codified constitution in one single document would make people more aware of the political system and government, how it works, and that would ensure protection of their rights which the main concept of democracy. Britain would also have a two-tier legal system and so it would make the constitutional laws more identified. Otherwise, citizens would be politically ignorant and do not understand the concept of a constitution. Also the European Convention on Human Rights, which came into force in 1998, is part of UK law. But this remains weak in that it can be overridden by Parliament. Parliament is Omnicompetent and a constitution cannot infiltrate in that sovereignty. It might damage human rights protection because Parliament cannot pass any legislation. If a codified constitution were introduced in the UK, it would include a statement of rights, which would have the better safeguarding of citizens' rights. .
Despite that, in history there were examples when the PM was dominating the Cabinet and even committees could not oppose that. For example, Margaret Thatcher in 1983 won a majority of 144 in the House of Commons and could propose any policy. Lord Hailsham called this as an "elective dictatorship " that is not related to the term "democracy." In fact she was so strong that only once her policy did not pass. Tony Blair had a majority of 178 in 1997, so he had the similar degree of dominance if not higher. Many of his committees condemned the Iraq invasion in 2003, but Blair actually ignored that and continued and even his own Cabinet could not oppose him.
