The Rise in Inequality in Philippines

At this moment, the rise in inequality is the most critical issues that all of countries around the world are discussing. To some people, they may think this issue is not important because it is only jealous of the wealthy from some poor people. However, to me, the rise in inequality is the significant problem to debate and governments also need to take an action to solve for these following reasons.
First of all, an inequality in a country only has benefits to very few people, but not a majority of people in a country. To illustrate, looking at the Philippines' economic growth as an example, it is the region's newest economic success, and its GDP growth rate is the second highest in Asia, but that is only few sections of Philippine (Keenan, 2013). He also stated that some areas in Philippines still face the problem as they were. A massive number of citizens still encounter with poverty, lacking of food, and other treatments. Moreover, according to UNICEF, almost 60 percent of Filipinos are dying because they do not have an opportunity to get a healthcare.
Furthermore, an inequality in a country is one of the most important factors to slow down the development of a country. According to Moore (2014), the minority of a country is rich people. They have money to pay on tax, education, or other expenses, but not for the rest of people in a country. It is hard to pay tax from poor people. Tax is an important factor to push a country to develop. Although rich people have much money to pay tax for themselves, it is not enough for all of a country if poor people do not have money to pay.
On the other hand, some people do not think that the rise in inequality is the problem issue. They think it helps rich people to get richer, and they have more opportunities to sell their products on global market due to globalization (Moore, 2014). However, the government should have a policy to control the income disparity in a country.
