             The topic that I have chosen to do my final paper on is Technology in Surgery. The reason I have chosen this topic is because of the surgeries that I have in the past. The newer technology for surgery makes recovery time a lot faster. Most surgeries you had back several years ago you would have to stay in the hospital overnight or even several days now days it is same day surgery and you go home to recover. I will be talking about the different kinds of technologies that are available for patients now like laser surgery, robotic surgeries, and computer-assisted surgeries. Plus there have been a lot of new technologies in knee replacements and even heart surgeries. Computers have come a long way since they for came out and they have helped doctors a great deal. They help keep track of their patients and their progress after surgeries. Plus making surgeries not so evasive, like before open heart surgery they had to cut your whole chest open and risk cause major infection happening now they can just cut a few holes and use lasers and robotic equipment to get the job done.
             My slide show I will show the different kinds of equipment that is being used in surgeries today and how the benefit the patient. I will also be showing how surgeries use to be done and how they are being done now with the newer technology at hand. The new technologies in surgery has made it easier for the patients and for the doctors. It has cut down the time it takes for a patient to have surgery and the recover from the surgery. It has helped the doctor in not being so evasive with surgeries. There is less stress on the patient when it comes to using the new technologies that are available for surgeries. The technologies have also cut out having to stay in the hospital overnight for observation after surgeries. Most surgeries that are done now are considered outpatient surgeries because of the new technologies that are involved with the surgeries.
