The Black Indian Community

The month of September 2003 would remain to be one of my best moment in the world that changed by notion about how I viewed the circumcision. Unlike the other days, this day I had wake up early in the morning than usual. The reason was because I was in a foreign country. I took my camera, packed it into a small bag which I had. I went to the next room only to found out my father had been waiting for me to take a shower so that we could go to the jungles of Gujarat state in western India. My father being a journalist, he had been given been given a task to investigate about the lost tribe of African living in India. Due to my curiosity of discovering new places, I had begged him to take me with him. My dad is not the easily convincing type but after begging him for almost a day he had accepted me to accompany him to India. .
After taking a flight from United States of America we landed at the India capital city that is Mumbai. I was surprised to notice that the city was not disoriented as they show it in the television. We spend the whole day in one of the three star hotels at Mumbai. We spend the night in the hotel then moved deep west of the India. My father and his journalist team were supposed to make a story about the lost tribe of African community which were living deep in the jungle of the Gujarat western side of the India country. The journey took us more than a day but this was because of the poor road networks which were heading to the Gujarat state. On reaching at Gujarat we moved deep into the juggles where I was amazed to see black African living in India. Unsuspected, the community was very social and welcomed us to witness their cultural circumcision event. I was amazed by the dancing styles of the community hand the unity they had. The women were not allowed to mingle freely with the men. After spending the night socializing with the black Indians I begun to feel guilty about the way of life the people from my home place live.
