"Have-Mores and Have-Lesses" by Donald L. Barlett and James B. Steele interviewed the vice president whom said, "I think we are taking the proper approach, I know it has hurt a lot of people, but it is also helping a lot of people in the long run, the consumers." 120 people were left without a job and all the company is really worrying about is the consumer? All Harwood wants is to make the most money it can make. They are driven by the fact that they won't make as much money if they will be paying minimum wage to workers, so they go and pay less than a dollar to someone outside of America. If the consumer was really the only thing Harwood cared about then they would know that their employees are just as much consumers as anybody else. .
When approaching a school, we always see the same type of education for the same type of social class. In "From Social Class and the Hidden Curriculum of work" by Jean Anyon, Jean inspected different schools and their education system and found that each social class prepares their students differently in life. She stated, "School experience, in the sample of schools discussed here, differed qualitatively by social class. These differences may not only contribute to the development in the children in each social class of certain types of economically significant relationships and not others but would thereby help to reproduce this system of relations in society." This means that the amount of money we make will determine what kind of education our children will receive in a public school. Public schools are not made for the lower class to be able to get the proper tools they need to be financially stable. This cycle of education is being repeated over and over again and the lowest class will not start getting a better education unless a stand is made for what is right. .
