The Importance of Rules and Laws


            A society cannot function without basic rules and laws. In our everyday life we make decisions, and these decisions are made with law in mind. Laws are essentially rules that we must follow, but the difference is that laws are there to help keep society in order, Laws are not just there they are usual enforced and come with consequences if broken. Rules on the other hand are something that we must follow to keep us in-line with society, but aren't enforced with heavy punishments. Without laws and rules the way we live our lives would change, we would have to act differently, the way we survive would be different, the way we protect our self would change, and the way we view our society and the human race would be different.
             In our everyday life we set guidelines and rules to live by. For every person they have different rules that they must follow. Rules don't always have to be something there just to keep you align, but can be something that helps you get through your day. Treating people the way I would like to be treated is something that I live by every day. If you have a certain level of respect for everyone they will give you that same amount of respect. Some public rules such as no cell phones in class is a rule that we must follow in class throughout the day. One of the most common rules would be to try and get at least eight hours of sleep, so your body and mind can function through your day. Rules can be viewed as the most important thing in your life, but what are rules if no one follows them. .
             Laws can be viewed the same way we view rules, except when breaking a law severe punishment can be associated with it. Throughout our day we encounter many laws that we have to follow. Whenever we travel anywhere via car there are various road laws that we have to follow. Every day when coming to school I have to be sure that I am going the proper speed limit, I am not running any red lights, and that I'm not endangering the lives of any pedestrians.
