Suicide and Euthanasia

Why can this "little Joe farmer" decide whether Mr. Nadeau dies by the medical practice of assisted suicide or lives through a lot of pain and body deterioration knowing that there is no cure to eventually pass away on his hospital bed? Will this "little Joe farmer" be present at Mr. Nadeau's funeral? Does "little Joe farmer" know Mr. Nadeau or does he even know what Mr. Nadeau is going through? I don't believe so. I cannot believe that the Canadian population has any sort of power to decide whether someone lives through years of pain knowing there is no exit or if they die in dignity by assisted suicide. .
Euthanasia is a practice that should be legalized everywhere, in every county of all continents. People should have the right to decide if they wish to live through harsh times or escape them. Nobody should be forced into living such undesirable moments if it goes against their beliefs. "Suicide is not a crime in Canada and hasn't been since 1972, but physician-assisted suicide is illegal" which is, in my opinion, quite wrong. If for example Mr. Nadeau was to continue living normally after being diagnosed until he was "mentally ready" to pass away because he was living with continuously-growing pain he would not be able to resort to assisted suicide since it is illegal. On the other hand Bertrand could resort to suicide but that could occasion some collateral damage such as being found lifeless by a family member, unsuccessful attempt that leaves him in an even worse situation. By legalizing euthanasia society ensures that people who's last wishes is to have a dignified death is granted. In my opinion it is the sole decision of each individual to decide whether they die by natural causes or assisted suicide, nobody should have the legal power to prevent one from this personal choice. .
Another major flaw in the Canadian Criminal Justice System is the facility in which serious offenders get away with their crimes by invoking certain excuses like psychological problems or even making deals with the law in order to reduce or even eliminate their jail time.
