Critiquing Works of Art

The form of this piece sticks out to me because it is three dimensional. They make some of the faces look so real you cannot help but stare it for minutes just to try and understand how this could be done by a human hand. The space in this piece is more long than tall because the artist only sculpted the people's bodies from the waist up and because there are four of them it is longer. The balance in this sculpture is definitely asymmetrical because if you cut it in half the two sides would be uneven. Every human body is unique in its own way so no two people could be symmetrical to each other.
             Sprinting Forward.
             The second piece I am going to critique is called Sprinting Forward. It was created by a Chinese artist named Chi Peng in 2004. This piece is either a photograph or a painting. But I would have to say my thought is a painting because there are many small red airplanes flying around so it is not exactly real. I would label it realism with some abstract to it. The painting shows the backside of a naked man standing in front of an enormous bright blue building with five small red airplanes on both sides of him flying up. He is just standing there looking at the building almost admiring it. The building is beautiful. Like I said it is bright blue so that shows a lot of primary color and also primary color with the red airplanes. It is a curved building with stairs leading up to the front door, which is where the naked man is standing. You can tell the whole building is made of glass because you can see the reflection of what looks like a downtown city because you can see more tall buildings in the reflection. The colors of the buildings are black, a neutral color. And now the more I look at this building the bright blue I see may be a reflection of the sky because the building is made of glass. There are millions of lines it looks like in this painting. The first lines I see are in the stairs.
