Every time I step on the basketball court, I understand that there is the excuse between success and myself. I like to share something interesting about basketball. Especially, I would like to tell to others about my basketball story. Maybe, I should call it for "showoff"; however, I always jump one thing all the time while I share. I would like to share a story that has been buried in my deep heart for a few years. The story took place when I studied in high school, but to me, it was as though it had happened last night. We were preparing for the "winter-cup" basketball game at that time. In my hometown, it is a coasted city where is located in the south of China, Guangzhou. The temperature of winter often falls down to 55 degrees, and it is humid. Every day, the coach had my teammates jogging around the playground, taking some 500 shots, training tactical and physical training. After finish daily training, all I want is to take a shower and lay down. After 2-week training, I tend to quit. Then, I am gradually absent from all team practice and use a variety excuse to resist the training.
Frankly, I thought highly of myself on playing basketball at that time. I told myself; I have a height advantage and great skills. So I thought I did not need training for the game, and there would not be many difficulties on the court. The coach also ignored me and quietly acquiesced my behavior, which could have created the conditions for future crises. Ironically, I did not know that I would get serious knocks after the game. Even till the day before game day, I disappeared from practicing as usual, despite that I knew that I must train myself the day before the game, which will have an adverse effect on my game day performance. On race day, people were standing around the basketball court. Although there was only one game at that day, it attracted some passerby and other students who come from different high schools.
